Plymovent Corp. Donates to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network

10 März 2015 While at work, firefighters are exposed to chemicals, gases, and other hazardous substances that can have damaging effects on their health.

Research has found that firefighters are twice as likely to develop testicular cancer and have significantly higher rates of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and prostate cancer than non-firefighters.

There is no question about the clear link between firefighters and cancer, which is why the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) serves to educate, research, and inform others about this issue. The FCSN frequently holds events including an upcoming one during the FDIC trade show on April 21, 2015, called "Comedy vs. Cancer". All proceeds generated will be used to aid FCSN members and their families in coping with cancer while also providing cancer awareness and prevention training worldwide. To support the FCSN and their efforts, Plymovent Corp. has made a donation to this annual event. Plymovent values the health of firefighters and cares about the quality of the air they breathe.

Additionally, Plymovent Corp. will be exhibiting at the FDIC trade show (booth #4110) on April 23-25, 2015, where their vehicle exhaust removal systems, including the award-winning Magnetic Grabber®, will be on display. Designed with "at the source" style capture of hazardous vehicle exhaust, Plymovent exhaust removal systems help firefighters significantly improve the every day quality of the air they breathe within the fire station.
